This nature reserve is located on the Tonomine Plateau (砥峰高原 - Tonomine Kōgen). It lies within the town of Kamikawa, in Kanzaki County, Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan. The plateau is part of the larger Seihiko-Mineyama Prefectural Nature Park. The area is particularly famous for its vast 90-hectare grassland covered in susuki (elephant grass or Chinese silver grass), which offers spectacular golden landscapes in autumn.
